First Week - Wednesday is the worst

Today marks day 11 him not being here.  We still have 111 days left.  Wednesdays are the worst day for me.  I have lots of free time on this day, and I really don't have anyone here that I can talk to about him being away, since hardly anyone knows.  I can distract myself with studying, but that test is fast approaching and come the middle of Sept, I will be done and it will just be a waiting game till November.  It's getting harder and harder not to say something at work.  I have to stop and think about what I say.  I caught myself saying something today, and had to redirect it (wow, I've been working in CDC too long, thats what we say about the kids :)).

I had a very rough time with him leaving.  I had several personal things hit me during that week, so I was way more emotional about him leaving.  I don't have time to really think about him being gone, until the nights or Wed through Sat.  I miss talking to him.  But we are texting a ton.  I get to FaceTime with him at night.. most nights :(, and that seems to help, but nothing beats him being near me.

I am working on getting things packed up.  The apartment looks like a war zone has hit.  Hard to believe we only have 2 more rent checks ever to write!  Then hopefully we will start writing mortgage checks!  I've been looking on Zillow, and have found quite a few homes we like, of course we will have to see them first, because pictures can be deceiving.  We probably aren't going to build.  The house has gone up by 20K dollars since we first started looking at it.  It was already pushing our budget, now it is very much pushing it.

I went to church by myself for the first time ever since high school on Sunday.  That was a wierd feeling.  I remember walking into Belle Aire the first time, and feeling overwhelmed and a little nervous.  This time it was about the same.  Our small group has vanished and that was one of the main reasons we liked the church.  They had a small group with a bunch of close friends who were going through the same thing K and I were.  I love the preaching, though.

I should probably get some sleep, early and busy day again tomorrow.  Ready for this week to be over with.  There is so much more I could say, but I'm sure you don't care to read it.  Thanks for the support.

So That Big News..

Kenneth has gotten a job at FedEx.. in Memphis!

He was offered it about a two weeks ago.  Since then he had the background check, drug test, and all the other good stuff that is involved with it.  I have made a list of everything he needs to bring with him.  I've come up with a list of weekends we will spend together.  I have started to pack up the apartment because we will store stuff at his parents until we figure out where we are going to live. I've realized just how much stuff I have collected!!

I'm nervous and excited.  I'm scared for leaving the one city I've known since I was 12.  I'm anxious because from Aug 20 till Dec 19, we will be apart.  The lease on the apartment doesn't end till the end of October, so instead of paying off the apartment and moving there, I'm going to keep living in it and he will move in with his parents.  School also starts tomorrow, and I don't want to move there with no job and only his income.  Not to mention I would be very bored. We also took a slight pay cut to get there.  Not bad now that I'm still working Kroger and the school job, but could make life more exciting when I *hopefully* start nursing school next spring and we are living on his income alone!

I'm sad to be leaving my family.  I'm sad that our cell phone bill will increase :).  I'm excited about finally being able to put in my two weeks in at Kroger in November.  I'm hoping my boss will let me have the days off I have requested.  We will get fall break together, and also get 1 full weekend a month with 2 half weekends.  So it will just be the weeknights that will stink!

So yea, that's our big news.  I'm still digesting it all, and in a state of shock, and I've had 2 weeks to process it, and we've been talking about this for well over a year and half!  Here's to a new life adventure and a new change!
