This isn't my normal post..

but I came across a cookbook the other day on Amazon. If you know me, I like to cook, but I don't really have a place to do it. When I was living in the dorms I wasn't prepared or had the best things to cook meals with, and when I'm at home, well, whats the point in cooking when mommy or daddy will make if for you.

So anyway, I have been obsessed with finding recipes for Kenneth and I when we get married. I have come across a few good ones, and have written them down and started a notebook, but I haven't found a good cookbook. Until now!

I found this. Now, normally I research things in the store, to see if it is worth it, but this was less than 5 dollars! I was like, who cares if I don't like it. So I got it in yesterday, and only had time to flip through it briefly, then put it away to study. Now, looking at it today. I will tell you some things I like about it. It has AMAZING recipes. That's a big one. It has molten chocolate cake, cheesecake, key lime pie, yellow cake from scratch, red velvet cake, you name it it's in there. It also tells you how to do baking basics, and also has a little section on what could have gone wrong if they didn't turn out looking right. It also has pictures with every recipe! All of this, makes it an A+ in my book! I am very happy about and wanting to try it out, but don't have a place to cook. :( So I'm telling you to go check it out!

The next one I purchased, I found in Hastings when Kenneth and I were looking for a movie for date night last Friday. I had him flip through it, and he found lots of good recipes, so I searched that on Amazon and found it for about 10 bucks less than Hastings wanted to charge. This cookbook is great! It has pictures on every recipe, which is a major plus. And this one also helps you save money! It has very limited ingredients which makes it very cost effective to make! A big plus in our book since we want to spend around $200 a month in groceries. And I am kinda a picky eater, and most everything looks good! It's now just trying them out and seeing if they are worth that good!

And finally there is this one. I haven't purchased it yet, but its on my registry of things I want to get for the wedding. I'm looking forward to seeing what is in this one. It has great reviews, and I'm very anxious to see who gets it for me!! I will love them forever!

And that wraps up my cookbook edition. Now on for some real news. My anatomy test went well. Its very hard to top a 100 and a 95 on exams, so that made me rather nervous going into the exam. Not to mention we had just had our last test 3 weeks ago, and we covered 4 chapters in a two week time span. The lecture was much easier to comprehend than last time and only felt unsure about 4 of the answers. The same goes with lab, felt very good about that, except for 3 of the answers. So keep your fingers crossed.

I found hurricane vases. Well 10 of them. I found them at Big Lots for $5. Not bad if you ask me! They are a little smaller than what I would have liked, but I'm not going to complain, they will work great, and I will make do. I just have to go back and get some more when the time comes around and I start to get an idea on how many people are coming. The trick is going to be selling them after I get married. :) Anyone want them?

So that sums up my life. Next week is going to be crazy! Finally closing again at nights :( I like working days, but this gives me time to get things done. So that's a plus. And I also have some places I need to call about certain things.. Starting with the rehearsal dinner stuff. This time next week, we will be on our way to Fl, about ready to board a cruise ship that will take us here! :)

More about a topic started last week

I really need to sign in here more often. Anyway, thanks for the church advice. Kenneth.. well I decided that Belle Aire just wasn't the place for me anymore. Kenneth goes, but he know that it pains me every time I see him (surprisingly it isn't Graham), and I know that causes Kenneth pain. So I decided that I can't do that to Kenneth anymore. Since we are getting married, it's time to start over fresh, with new people, new friends, and new lives.. So I decided to start researching churches.

So on that note, we tried out New Vision today. After great recommendations from Anna, and searching on-line and finding they have a Newly or Nearly married Sunday school class we decided to go for it. Of course this was on Friday night.. On Saturday I decided to pick up an extra shift at work.. working close to 25 hours this week.. and having an exam.. but thats off topic. So I was worried that we wouldn't have time for church, Sunday School (well Small Group) and then eating and making to work in 3 hours.

We decided to go today, just to church, and see if we actually did like it. Kenneth and I were talking about how it reminded us of the church I had in Johnson City. Which was a good thing, because I LOVED that church back there! So I have my availability on Sundays to be after 2, so that should leave plenty of time next week to check out Small Group. I'm very excited about this and ready for a new change.

Off that topic now! I have decided on centerpieces for the wedding! :) Now to find hurricane vases that don't cost an arm and a leg :( I found ones I love at Old Time Pottery, but they only have 4 left, and I need 16! Boo! So off to the drawing board again! Its kinda crazy to think about, that it's the end of Feb already and March is here. Kenneth and I were thinking about getting married March 13. Thinking that was plenty of time to be engaged, but then we started thinking about his roomies, and how I would live there, and we decided to move it to October. Crazy how we thought that was so far.. yet, it's so close now.

And I have another A&P exam this Friday. I'm a little nervous cuz I can't concentrate to save my life right now. I'm looking up DJs, or centerpieces, or wondering if I really need a wedding coordinator. Or I'm staring outside at the beautiful weather. It's going to be tough for me to focus these next few weeks, but I have to. Later y'all. Have a great night.. :)

Happenings and the like :)

This Valentines Day was great! I worked. :-P Honestly, it's something that I don't care to much to celebrate. Kenneth shows me that he loves me everyday, and I don't see why we need to show each other on this day. So we had our normal date night on Friday. He took an hour ETO (early time off) he had earned, and we didn't end up leaving my house till 8 pm. :) We did end up getting drinks. I love a white peach sangria. And Olive Garden and Applebee's make the best. We had a nice relaxing dinner, where we talked about my 100 I had made on my lab practical, and I was also telling him he needed to go give blood so I could get an extra 25 points for my test grade. We then went back and watched an old time movie he rented. I had a great day and couldn't have asked for anything better.

Work on Valentines Day made me so close to leaving Kroger. I hated it. I had so many people giving me lip, and all my help was disappearing. I was so close to losing it. But I got an extra 30 minutes of 'overtime' cuz I couldn't leave on time!

Next year Kenneth and I are probably going to go up to the Biltmore in Ashville, NC and have a nice relaxing weekend there. There are lots of cool things to do up there also. So I'm looking forward to that!

We have found our furniture for our new place. We are going to be able to get a bed, two night stands, a dresser, a couch, a loveseat, a marble dining room table and 6 chairs for about $2,500. Not bad if you ask me. That will also furnish our new place and leave nothing else to buy (until a baby comes ;-));! So that's really good!

I leave for the Caribbean in about 2 weeks. I am looking forward to the sun, the amazing ports, and spending time with my family! Which reminds me I have to go tanning. Hot Spot was doing free tanning the first 2 weeks of Feb, so I did that 5 or 6 times. And then one weekend I went and got 5 tanning visits for $10. Which is really good cuz a tanning visit is normally 6 dollars a visit. And I got it for two! And the best part is that it will be good right and I will use all the visits up right before the cruise!

I've been thinking more and more, and I'm wondering if y'all would have any idea. I am looking for a church that has a good newlywed marriage class. A class that Kenneth and I can join so we can meet other people. I'm thinking World Outreach, but they are non-denominational and so BIG. Not sure if I'm ready for that. Plus we really want to stick Baptist, but feel that Belle Aire isn't really our home anymore. So I'm curious if y'all know anything.

Anyway, that wraps up my thoughts, I'm off to work on A&P. Have another exam next week, and all 206 bones will be on the exam :(

This winter has been wierd..

We have gotten more snow than most of us have seen in our entire lives. Not me, cuz we lived up north. There was one winter, we had enough snow, to build a dinosaur out in our front lawn that was as all as us and we had 3 holes under it where we could all lay. I need to get that photo uploaded on here.

Anyway, I woke up to find this.

This completely bypassed the weathermen. They didn't expect for it to get cold enough the night before and for it to actually snow. Therefore, it snowed a good 5 to 7 inches on the ground!

I guess this leads me to say.. I'm tired of winter. I'm tired of the cold spouts, the wind chill that freezes you. I'm tired of the snow fall, and the icy rain. I want spring here. With the pretty flowers blooming. The temperatures above 60 degrees. I want spring. Winter can go and hibernate for a while.
