1st off..

I want to say that I wasn't dissing marriage life with children. Every couple struggles and I think that one of the hardest struggles Kenneth and I are going to have to face is when we first get married. I am very strong willed and am used to having my own way, and he doesn't let me get away with it. So it shall be interesting :) Also, I do believe children are great. And I was reminded of this the other day when I was holding a 10 day old. How fragile and so needing, so precious!

Anyway, we are nearing the 6th month mark till the wedding. So that means signing the lease. Now most of you will remember what we had picked out. It was this. I was in love with them because I got my washer and dryer in unit, and actually had a room. We had two rooms and two bathrooms, and lots of living room space. And the closet in the master was HUGE! Now add the tall ceiling that the 3rd floor offered and the huge deep sinks that came with it, I was one happy housewife :)

But we called them yesterday, since we can go and sign our lease tomorrow and the price which was 800 a month has been raised to 900 a month. Something that we just can't afford! So boo! And back to the drawing board.

So, I started thinking about the other we loved. Aldridge. So I looked that one up. We loved the floor plan, walking up stairs to get to our place. The bathrooms weren't that big but we could manage, and of course the kitchen sink left something to be desired, but I could deal. So we had settled on the Jackson. But after looking at more floor plans in this apartment complex. I stumbled across, Holly Springs. Now this has 1 bathroom, which is good and bad. It has my stairs walking into the place, and it also has my loft! And get this. I can get this for 800 a month! Its in our BUDGET!! YAY!! I'm wondering if I can talk them down a little since we will be signing a year or longer lease. So hopefully we can talk them down to 775 or lower. So, we are going to put our name on the wait list for Holly Springs and the Jackson and see which one comes available and if they are running any specials on these any time soon. I'm very excited about this.

Also, today, I was bored and haven't had much time to myself recently. So I decided to get away and go shopping. I needed to pick up a few things from target, and figured since I was in there, I need to look at some more room deodorizing things for Kenneth's room. I ended up getting an Air Wick Motion Compact also because it was 6 dollars and I found a 5 dollar off coupon so I ended up getting it for 1 dollar! And it includes all the things on this website! So I was really happy about that! All in all, I spent 25 dollars and saved 15 so it was a very productive day shopping :) And on that note, I'm going to get off here and go read what the lesson is for nursery. Hope everyone is enjoying this GREAT WEATHER!!

I've been thinking about this recently

As we get closer and closer to the wedding. I start thinking about everyone who has gotten married. At the church where I used to go, EVERYONE would get married right after high school, to their high school sweetheart, and then about a year later they would be around 3 or 4 months pregnant and then they would pop out 3 or 4 kids over the next 4 or 5 years. I don't understand why you would want to do that. Especially if you don't have a college degree.

Isn't marriage about enjoying the company of your significant other. Once you have children you sorta get tied down and you aren't able to do things freely anymore. Don't get me wrong, I'm not dissing children. But I just wonder why you would get married in December then 3 months later.. March.. find out your 3 months later. Shouldn't you be enjoying being a newlywed? Not to mention, the first year is when all the problems happen. I mean you are moving in with someone who you didn't live with, and learning all the flaws that stay hidden while you are dating. Why would you want to bring stress upon that and add a baby to that mix?

I know Kenneth and I don't want kids immediately. That isn't to say that if it happens we won't be thrilled, but we aren't going to try for them. We still have dreams that we want to get accomplished before we bring a child in. Not to mention I would like to be more stable. I want to see Europe, and I don't really want to do that with an infant.

I guess its all in how you are raised and brought up. But it just blows my mind sometimes. I know this is really rambling and I'm sorry. I hope you can sorta understand this.

Hey America Lets Try this!

Alright, I have tried to stay out of this! And I know you all might agree or disagree with some things about to be said but hear me out.

America is like trillions of dollars in debt. And yet we are planning on taking money out of MEDICAID to pay for people who already do NOTHING for society? Medicaid is for people who are low income whereas medicare is for the elderly.

Lets try teaching America how to eat properly, so we can AVOID getting sick and going to the hospital! Start hiring some health educators! Start hiring some nutritionists and get out in the communities and start EDUCATING people on what is killing them! Just a thought.. but that's probably too simple for anyone to come up with.

And fyi.. there are 40 million uninsured American.. not 32..

So This Cruise.. :)

This is my 6th cruise that I have taken. 3 trips to the Eastern Caribbean and 3 trips to the Western Caribbean. We have always sailed on Carnival, but the more I do, the more I want to try out Royal Caribbean. I have heard great things about them. Anyway, my trip.

It started out with a 13 hour car ride.. in the middle of the night: Friday night into Saturday morning. Let me tell you this. You can't sleep in a car. I ended up getting around 30 minutes to an hour total sleep that night. That might be why my sleep is so messed up! :( Anyway, we made it to the ship around 10ish that morning. Finally, made it through all the pre-boarding stuff and went on to find lunch! I am honestly shocked I didn't gain much. I was eating rolls and dessert every hour!

On Sunday it was a visit to Half Moon Cay. Half Moon Cay is a private island in the Bahamas. It is owned by Carnival, and is a beautiful island. 'Cept this time, I was going to get food, and tripped over a rock in the sand, and injured my toe very badly. Beyond that nothing much happened in Half Moon Cay. Just a good day to lay out in the sun. But since we hadn't traveled that far south it was a little cold.

The next day, Monday, was a day at sea. Those are nice, and it was actually a nice day out! So up to the top deck to get some sun.

Tuesday, we were at St. Thomas. Here we went snorkeling! I have been in love with snorkeling since we tried in Hawaii. I'm sure we did it another time on a previous cruise, but I don't really remember it that much. We went out to this island and were able to see a shipwreck. It had broken into three pieces, so that was a cool experience. On the way back we had free rum punch. I almost threw up at the smell. The 18 year olds though.. enjoyed it very much. So we spent the next few hours shoving food in their faces, before they passed out with sleep.

Wednesday we were at San Juan. Now don't get me wrong, San Juan really isn't a good city. Its very run down and its honestly scary around there. But we decided to do a tour, to the Bacardi Rum Factory. I learned SO MUCH! Like they make 85 percent of the Bacardi Rum comes from the factory in San Juan. The other 15 percent from the factory in Mexico. Or the symbol of the bat means good luck. I guess that one makes sense since butterflies are also a symbol of luck. This was such a great side excursion! I loved it!! :) I also picked up a liter of Razz Rum, that will probably take close to 5 or 6 years to drink. But who can pass up a liter of rum for 12 bucks when its normally 25 or 30 in the states?!? Yea, didn't think so! :)

Now, onto Thursday, and the prettiest island by far.. GRAND TURKS! I feel in love with this island last year when we went. I can't describe why I love it. The beaches are right off the pier, which is nice. You can the ship without walking far. The shops are all within walking distance. And the beaches have the whitest sand and the bluest water that you have ever seen! Its so gorgeous! :)

I love going to the Caribbean because the weather is always great, you get to see and experience so many different things that you normally don't get to. Also most things are tax free if you go to the stores that are recommended from the cruise lines. So that's always a plus when you want to get jewelry :)

Kenneth and I have decided that we are probably going to do a European Cruise when he gets done with Law School in 5 years. And we will probably go on a cruise in about 2 years. I also want to do a cruise to Alaska. But for now, I'm just looking forward to our honeymoon in Jamaica. I started getting really excited on Sunday when we got back. Some of the girls in our new Sunday school class were talking and we started talking about honeymoons. And a lot of them did the Sandals White House one. And I was telling them how we are probably going to the Ochos Rios one. Its really close to Dunns River falls, which is something Kenneth and I will do when we get there. Its something I can't let him miss! And Jamaica is another pretty island.. if you stay where you are supposed to. :) And that sums up things.

Two quick things. I finished designing the wedding invitations late last night. I think we have decided on doing a pocketfold invite. So I completed the design of the invitation, response card, direction card, and also a mock up for the rehearsal dinner. I'm putting those in a few of them just to save on postage and invitation cost. I'm also making seals to make sure the flaps stay closed. I'm very excited about getting the samples in the mail, so I can print a few and see how they are going to look! I will post pictures when I get things more organized.

And just for you Anna! I will make a blog about the cruise when I get a free moment tomorrow :)

Totally don't wanna work on learning the muscles..

yea, we have reached the muscle part of A&P. Its not fun! And I have to write 25 sentences on which muscles are used during a basketball jump shot and I'm up to 8.. and not wanting to do anymore. Oh well, it must get done.

I really don't have anything interesting to write about. So I'm leaving it with that. Halfway done with the semester.. and closer and closer to finding out about nursing school.

our best man is moving to South Korea.. for a year. Starting this April. Can you say that I had a mini melt down!?! This has been the first big oh no, what am I going to do moment, during the entire process. He will be coming in for 4 days before the wedding, but that means we have less than a month (and I'm going to be gone for a week) to figure out groomsmen outfits and get everything squared away as far as that end goes. Oh my.
