Very Quickly

before I have to head into work! Little update! Last night our Sunday School class had a progressive dinner! We traveled to 5 couples houses and ate appetizers at one, salad and soup at another, main course at one, then dessert, and presents! It was such a fun way to end a crazy week! We also found out who our secret santa was! It was such a ball!

Also, Kenneth and I finally got around to putting up our Christmas tree and hanging ornaments! So here are some pictures!

Here is the box of ornaments I picked up at Target for 20 bucks! I got 100 ornaments! Thank you Target and your coupons! Also they are shatterproof, so that way when we do have kids we are good to roll and don't have to worry about them stepping on class and them busting :)

These are the stockings I was talking to you about in the last post. I bought just regular red stockings, and then a lettered ornament that should be hanging on the tree. I took the string off that had it hanging and attached a metal clip on the back and then put the safety pin style thing through the stocking and it has held up quite nicely!

And here is our Christmas picture! That is going on our Christmas Cards, which I ordered today and should go out tomorrow. Keeping in mind I'm hoping to have a snow day tomorrow!! :)

And as for that I think it wraps it up! I have a little bit of laundry that needs to get folded and then I'm heading across town to go into work! Oh and the snow is finally starting to stick!! Fingers crossed for tomorrow, I would love to be off, so I could address all the Christmas Cards :)

Christmas Decorations

Kenneth from the start of relationship has told me that he wants to have Christmas scene set up. Well we don't have the space. So from that day I have been looking around for things that I could find that might work. So one day I was in Kohls' and spotted the St. Nicholas Square Christmas collection. Its a Christmas Village that we can add onto each year, so I figured it would be awesome for us! We went shopping for Christmas stuff today, so of course I had to drag Kenneth into Kohls' to see such items! He fell in love with them! We got the Town Square Gazebo, Light Posts, Clock Tower, a Tudor house, and a Country Stable!

I am so excited to get them set up! Now we just have to figure out where to put them all! And the best part is I got them for really cheap! I got all of them for the retail price of the Tudor House which is 55 dollars! We also went over to Target and got some Christmas ornaments red and gold shatterproof ones! We will go back for silver after Christmas.

I'm also excited because we got another wedding present in the mail today and it was a Target giftcard, so we can go pick out a tree and use the gift card for our first Christmas tree! I'm a little too giddy about that! We didn't want to buy a tree last Christmas when they were all on sale because we weren't sure where we would be living so we didn't want to buy something and not be able to use it.

Here are the close ups of the houses.

I also have to get up pictures of our stockings. I did pick those up last year. I got simple red ones, then added a silver letter (an A& K for our initials) on the front and then went to Jo Ann Fabric and got some safety pins that can be placed on the back of metal and attached them that way to the fabric. They turned out very cool! And I DIYed both stockings for around 10 bucks total! :)

Christmas time is so much fun!

Black Friday and Thanksgiving!

Well, once again it was a whirl wind trip to Memphis. Drive there and back in less than 24 hours! It was a great Thanksgiving with Kenneth's side of the family. His sister hosted 10 people and the turkey turned out AMAZING! There was so much food, I was stuffed after one plate!! The rest of the day was spent watching football and traveling back in the rain :(. I have so much to be thankful for this year. A husband, two jobs, great families. The list could go on!

Kenneth and I decided to get up and go to Best Buy when it opened this morning, so around 4:40 we left our house.. and was able to get into Best Buy around 5:20. Picked up exactly what I wanted and got out by 6:20! We spent a lot of money in the store but saved close to 275 dollars! I'm not passing up boxed TV shows for 9.99.. (like How I Met Your Mother and House). PS3 games for 20 under asking price(even got one for 9.99!) or brand new Blue-Ray DVDs for under 10 dollars!! Yea. I was pretty impressed at the shopping deals.

I'm off to Kohls right now. I have a 15 percent off EVERYTHING coupon, that I'm gonna use to get some long sleeve shirts, and some gifts for my sisters.. if I can find them.

I've kinda done with Christmas gifts. I have Kenneth's sister done, and Kenneth done, my parents, and his. I know what I'm, sorry we, are getting my sisters, but Ben I'm at a loss for! I might leave this one up to Kenneth. He is better at coming up with guy stuff.
Anyway, what was your best deal that you were able to find today?

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful time with our Sunday School class last night. We all made various feasts foods associated with Thanksgiving and we went over to a class members house to celebrate! It was a wonderful time! And there was so much food! We also drew for secret santa, so Kenneth and I have to figure out what to get for this couple. When we got bored, we sat down and played a few games. It was a nice way to learn about people. I can't believe that Kenneth and I have been going to this Sunday School class for almost a year. Wow. I'm going to be sad when we move away from all of this :(.

As for our actual Thanksgiving, we shall spend it in Memphis and then Christmas will be in our own house with my family that evening and then on New Year's we will head back down to Memphis and celebrate Christmas with his side.

I can't believe how close Thanksgiving is. I'm glad because I am needing a break from school, but it also means that amazing deals are going on. I'm already scouring the black Friday ads to see what is out there. So far I've found at least 10 to 15 good things I want to pick up! Question then becomes am I actually going to make it up at a reasonable time to get said items :)

Anyway, I think that's a quick wrap up for now, I'm off to Chatt! Its Christi's birthday today! Mommy has babies all 20 and older :)

We have been married one month..

and in that month I've learned several things.

Working two jobs and still finding the energy to be a wife and get all the household duties done is exhausting! There are most days that I come home and I just crash. Most nights when I'm not working at Kroger, I will come home and take a 2 or 3 hour nap. I look forward to Wednesday nights because its a chill night for me. I have nothing to do, so I can catch up on my DVR tv shows I have done during the week. Friday is normally my cleaning day, and I'm going to try to get better at making my day to where I look at what to make for the upcoming week.

I'm very OCD when it comes to most things. The dishwasher has to be loaded a certain way to maximize the running potential. I hate running it when its not fully full. Also it raises our electric bill. I'm also anal about how things are folded and where things go. I've had to learn how to let some of that go.

It really does help when your husband helps you out. There are so many things that would be placed on my shoulders to get done that I just can't do while juggling everything else I have to do.

Going on a vacation is much needed! We are planning a trip right now for my spring break. We are just trying to decide if we want to go to Vegas or on a Caribbean cruise. Leaning more towards Vegas then doing a cruise for our one year.

Being married to my best friend is one of the greatest rewards that I could have been given. So thankful for his understanding and constant forgiveness.

Anyway, beyond that, life is pretty normal now. It is starting to get in a routine which is a nice change of pace. The first few weeks back, I felt like we were running around in circles all confused! Not fun. Anyway, just figured I would update, I'm going to run and shower and get the meals planned for this week, and then go grocery shopping. Publix has sweet tea on sale, and Kroger has Bounty paper towels on sale for 4.99 after coupons for an 6 pack (normally like 8 or 9)!

its been a month!!!

forgive me.. i've been busy! I got married almost 2 weeks ago, today is Kenneth's birthday and I feel like all is what I've done since we got back is run run run! Thank goodness I didn't get scheduled at Kroger any this week, cuz I would have lost my mind!!

The wedding was beautiful! The weather turned out perfect and besides the wind picking up during the ceremony and blowing my veil around, everything went off great. Except for the cake having AKA on it, and not AKK. Oh well, I'm not going to yell that much is was my cake, and my monogram is now AKA.. so it works :) I have my pictures back and will try to post some on here, along with some honeymoon ones, so here are a lot of pictures!!

The honeymoon was amazing! We spent 3 days at Universal, 2 days at MGM and Magic Kingdom and then were home on Saturday to go to a Sunday school party bonfire where we roasted smores. Oh so good!

I started right back to work on Monday at 550 am. The one good thing is that I am so much closer to work now and don't have to get up at 530 anymore! Yay for extra sleep! Now that it's Friday, I can relax till Kenneth gets off and then we are heading to Memphis! Oh my! Anyway, pictures tell the stories and I love posting them, so here they are.

13 days..

13 days to get everything done!

Programs, favors, paying the dj, book the rest of the honeymoon, find a guestbook (long story about mine :(), find pens for the guestbook, get the marriage certificate, write all the thank you cards for the shower we had last night and all the gifts that are coming in, pack for the honeymoon, make sure all the vendors are ready and are still good. All while working at Kroger for around 15 - 20 hours and while keeping my full time job at the schools working 35.. can I hire a wedding coordinator today? :)

Naw, in all seriousness. I have been having a wonderful time. I have loved every moment of planning, but after 15 months, I'm a little over it, and just want him to be my husband.
