Where did this month go?

I seriously haven't gone to bed before 2 am any this week. And have I mentioned that I have 8:15s Monday through Thursday.. which means getting up at 6:35.. yea. I made some awesome cookies during a study break on Monday night. They have cocoa with white chocolate chips. Not bad, very rich. Go great with milk.

I had two tests yesterday. One that was a possible 52 'short answer questions' and he chose 20. I think I did good on that one. The reason why I have short answer in quotes is because the teacher doesn't really believe in short answer, they are more like essay. I like his tests. He's the one that I had for P&P (Principles and Practices of Health Education) and spent 1.5 hours writing 5 pages typed for one of his exams.. :-D

Then the one from 4311.. Human Nutrition and Metabolism. I haven't talked much about this class. But why do I have a gut feeling that this is going to be the class that keeps me from graduating in December.. This class is pretty much organic and biochem combined. Now don't get me wrong. I have a great science background. I mean, reg chem, bio, anat & phys 1 and 2, micro.. but this class is over my head. I read the book, and it gets me confused. What he talks about in class, isn't the complicated, but his test was kinda left field. As Kenneth said when I called and vented, I always freak out about tests, and I probably did fine. I guess we will see. Good news is I now know 18 of the 20 amino acid structures. How to draw them and what the names are :D. See there was some good that came out of this weekend.

I have a two journal articles to work on this weekend, two tests to study for, and we start CPR training in the high schools this Monday. Mondays and Fridays now are no longer going to be free days. Which I'm okay with, a little bit.

I'm starting to rethink graduating in December. I am slightly on the verge of a mental breakdown. And honestly as funny as this sounds, the only thing that calms me down is doing wedding planning things. I want to graduate in December, just so I don't have to worry about the extra costs. College gets expensive without the lottery anymore. And it is possible. I mean, after this semester I'm going to have 160 credit hours. This is getting near where people get Master's degrees at!! I'm just so scared I'm going to drain myself physically and I'm just going to go crazy.

On a side note, I think I've found the job that I'm going to work at when I get graduated. But that I'm going to keep a secret for now. I will have a lot of my plate come the year 2010. Between finding a 'grown up job', working at Kroger for atleast 6 months, weddings, looking at nursing school (I think, I'm very tempted just to put that off til the next year), and things like that, I know its going to be a little stressful.

Anyway, I hadn't updated in a little while, so I thought I would. I've gotta get ready for class, and eat. 12 days til the open sea, the sun, and all I can eat buffets of food!!! :)

There are...

There are 18 more days til Spring Break.
There are 21 more days til I board the cruise ship and sail off to the Bahamas!
There are 10 more days til I start teaching CPR to high schoolers.
There are 2 months 10 days til I turn 23.
There are almost 10 months exactly til I graduate.

When I look at days in these terms, it makes things easy to handle. Now I'm off to finish my lab, study for my quiz, work on my 3 papers, read about Viking death rituals, go talk to housing, and also attend three more classes. This is the first time I have honestly felt like there aren't enough hours in the day. And I seriously want to take 3 summer school classes in one session.. I'm insane!

Valentines Day 2009

Now, I have never been one to get into holidays that much. But this Valentines Day was different. It was the first time that I've actually had a boyfriend during this holiday. Granted Graham and I always used to do stuff together in the past during this holiday, and Jake got me a single rose every year for about 4 years. But I wasn't dating either of them. Kenneth refused to tell me what we were doing till the day before.. and that's only after a massive tickle fest. He was going to come to JC, but his phone has been dead since Monday. Very long story with this, I might get into later on.
Anyway, I had told him earlier in the month that I wanted to go to Outback! I was craving cheese fries, a Wallaby Darned, and a steak :) So he knew thats where I wanted to go, but I found out that he was taking me golfing.. I thought oh how fun. I've been telling him I've been wanting to learn because there is a place we are going later on with a golf course, so I wanted to make sure that wasn't my first time playing. The first few holes were decent. I mean I wasn't good or anything, but I didn't stink that bad. I only lost 2 balls, but one of them was his fault. He told me to hit it over this huge ravine looking thingy and it skipped on the water, bounced off the rocks on the other side, and then plopped back into the water. And then about by the time hole 8 got here I was tired, cold, and starting to get cranky. The wind was blowing so much. I don't think I did that bad, but ya never know.

We then went to dinner, and then back to his house for a movie session on HBO. I never knew I liked that channel so much! It was a good day. It was very relaxing and just what I needed. I was missing him like crazy since we really haven't been able to talk much. We try to make time, but I'm starting to learn that life gets in the way of that. Unfortunately. He starts his new job in five weeks and has four more weeks working at Kroger. I'm going to start getting really busy with school and all the papers that I have to write this semester. Not to mention all the paperwork I'm filling out and forms I'm completing for my internship, being an RA, and also graduation.

The amazing flowers he got me. I love opening up my bedroom door and smelling them. Much better than roses :) And they fit just perfect in my little window!

Anyway, enough about Valentines Day! What going on in my life?!? Lots of school work. Lots of papers. Lots of talking to advisors. Not alot of tests. Not alot of sleep. Yea, I think that covers it. Have a great week!

So many things..

So.. I have determined that it just gets harder and harder to say good-bye. This time it was a full fledge tear fest. Normally I do okay with saying good-bye but this time was different. And the worst part is, I am seeing him again on Thursday, since its Valentines Day!! We have survived 8 months, and this is making me want to finish school. I have never had this desire to. We had been trying to find out his work schedule since this morning and finally at 9 my time, we got a hold of someone who was able to help and we found out he has an 8:00 am shift tomorrow!! So needless to say we headed back to my room and he packed and was gone. I just keep telling myself, 10 more months of long distance, and then about 13 months and no more being apart! I just long for those days.

So, Epi is now being taught during summer session. So it looks like I will probably be taking 9 credit hours this summer. I am looking into being an RA/camp assistant. This will allow my housing to be free! So all is what I have to worry about is my tution, which I should be able to handle because of the CD I have in the bank that is about to mature.. even though it was going to go to a house payment. Between the months of June 8 to July 10 I will be taking three classes, and then two of those will end and Med Term will continue through Aug. This will give me about three weeks of freedom, and means I will hopefully graduate on December 19!!! :) Finally. 5.5 years of college, and I will be out! I will have gotten this major in 2.0 years.. 70 something credit hours. I have to be crazy. Then I can go to work back at Kroger and stay there through Aug. So I can pay back school.

I turned in my intent to graduate, along with my major and minor sheets. I have my application for my internship. I need to contact the place and see when I can line up an interview time with them. I am signed up for my Senior Exit Exam in March, so thats done. I have my application for camp assistant and I've got that most of the way completed. So many things, its crazy. Good this is I am keeping busy, so I'm not thinking about lots of things. Thats whats been going on.

I need some help..

So. I've been thinking. I don't know if I should graduate in December or in May. Both have their advantages and disadvantages.

So I'm going to start with December.
Advantages: I'm done with school before Christmas and back in the boro, to spend time with Kenneth, i would have a few months of peace to actually focus of wedding details.
Disadvantages: no summer time fun, cost of summer school (9 hours - online), doing my internship here, more stressful semesters

May:
Advantages: i can do my internship in the boro, i will take only 12 hours next fall.. which will leaves me time to get wedding details straightened out, I can work all summer.
Disadvantages: Kenneth's sister graduates then.. on the exact day.

Kenneth and I have discussed things, and he is up for whatever I decide. I just don't know. I've also got to look into nursing schools. Since I will probably be starting one in August or Jan of 2011. But depends on a whole lot more details that I really can't get into right now :( So what do you think?!?

Summer school classes are up, and epi is not being taught this summer, and gerontology and health is being taught on campus. Which means no summer school for me, which means, graduation of May 2010. Well that made things easier...

Check :)

Met with my advisor yesterday, spent an hour with her. And then another 5 minutes talking with the dean of the department. But it looks like everything should check out. :) I have 33 more hours to go in my major and 10 in my minor. 12 of those 33 hours are required for my internship.. so thats why I have so many. I was calculating it up and I will have gotten this degree in about 2 years.. taking 19 hours pretty much every semester. All while keeping a 3.4 GPA, which is what I have right now! But in my major and minor combined, I only have 2 B's the rest are A's!

I emailed the internship coordinator and he said as long as that was my last class to take, since its not in PUBH department and its a night class, and if I can get it cleared with my preceptor then its all a go. So I have to get that paperwork filled out (got it signed by my advisor yesterday), and get my resume attached. I'll call the place I want to work around March and get times set up for an interview, and will hopefully land the place by April.

I should get all my major/minor forms filled out and sent up to graduation by late today, since I only have two class!! :) One of my teachers is going to a funeral and the other is hitting fiberglass to snow in Utah! I have registered for the senior exit exam and will be taking that the Monday after spring break! Everything is falling into place.

I will be taking 9 hours this summer. I still have Medical Term, Epidemology, and Gerontology and Health. All three of these are online, so I will sign up for them, not work at all! And just drive up here the days that I need to take a test. Hopefully I won't be driving that much. And that will conclude the class in PUBH cept for my internship.

Kenneth got the job at Verizon Wireless!! :) He starts March 23th. Its a little later than what he had planned on, but its a job. A good paying job, thats salary and not commission! So I should get some bling bling by this summer sometime! :-D

Other than that, its just a normal rainy Tuesday. I'm just glad its not snowing! :) Of got get ready for class. We are showing our videos today!! :) I loved making mine.
